Zeus Renovations Cardiff offers plastering services across Cardiff and surrounding areas. Led by Zeus Renovations founder Louis, a plasterer with nearly 15 years of hands-on experience and an NVQ in plastering, you can rest assured you’re in safe hands.
Send us a few photos or give us a call, and we’ll arrange a convenient time to visit your property, assess what is required and then provide a quote within 48 hours. There’s no deposit to pay up front; you only settle up once the work is completed.
We offer internal plastering and skimming for a wide variety of surfaces, including brick, block or plasterboard.
Plasterboarding using the dot and dab method, a solid way to line a wall on brick or block before skimming, taping and jointing, following British Gypsum’s dot and dab specification.
Ceiling plastering, overboarding and covering old Artex, plus repairs where a leak or a removed light fitting has left damage behind.
If you’ve had a leak, damp issue, or accidental damage, we’ll carry out the repair and provide an itemised invoice you can pass straight to your insurer.
Cardiff’s housing stock comprises a wide and diverse range of housing types. Head into areas such as Roath, Cathays, Canton or Pontcanna, and you’ll mostly see Victorian and Edwardian terraces with solid brick walls, often finished in lime plaster. Travel up to CF14 areas such as Llanishen, Thornhill or Whitchurch, and you’re more likely to find semis and bungalows built between the 1930-60s.
In our experience, older Victorian and Edwardian properties tend to be more prone to damp-related plaster failure. The Welsh Housing Conditions Survey found close to one in five homes in Wales had a category one hazard, damp being one of the most common (Welsh Housing Conditions Survey, Welsh Government). If damp is present, we’ll flag it before starting work, as replastering simply isn’t an option when damp conditions exist.
Further out in the newer pockets of Llanishen, Thornhill, Rhiwbina and the more recently built parts of CF14, you’re dealing with a different set of conditions. These properties are usually built with cavity walls and a block inner leaf, finished with plasterboard fixed using dot and dab rather than a full wet plaster coat. It dries faster and suits a quicker turnaround, but it comes with its own quirks.
Don’t worry, no matter what type of property you own, we’ll use our experience and expertise to identify any issues present and figure out a suitable solution that ensures your project is carried out as you envisioned.
As a reputable plastering company with over a decade of experience serving Cardiff homeowners, we’re highly regarded for our top-class service. We visit the property before we quote, so you get a proper assessment of what the wall or ceiling actually needs. This visit is completely free of charge, and there’s no obligation for the quote you receive.
Once you accept the quote, tradespeople with real hands-on experience and qualifications carry out the work. Our lead plasterer, Louis, has nearly 15 years in the trade and an NVQ in plastering, and any subcontractors we bring in also hold their own trade qualifications.
While we undertake the work at your property, we’ll treat it like our own. We protect floors, furniture, and anything nearby before we start, and do everything we can to minimise dust disruption, in line with the dust-control measures set out in HSE guidance on construction dust.
Finally, there’s absolutely no deposit to pay up front. We’re so confident in our ability to meet your expectations that we don’t require any payment until the project is completed and you’re happy to sign off.

It’s impossible to give a figure without understanding the scope of your requirements. Factors that influence the cost include the size of the room, the state of the existing plaster, and whether it’s a full skim or a smaller repair required. We’ll provide an accurate quote after our property visit has concluded.
As a general rule, allow around a week per coat before painting, longer in cold or damp weather or in a room without much ventilation. We’ll talk you through drying times for your specific job, so you’re not painting too soon and trapping moisture underneath.
Yes, wallpaper needs to come off before we skim as plaster won’t bond properly over it. We’ll agree upfront in the quote whether that prep work is included or whether you’re doing it yourself so everything is completely clear and agreed before the work starts.
Dot and dab (plasterboard fixed with adhesive, then skimmed) is quicker and dries faster, and works well on most stud or block walls. Traditional solid plaster , on the other hand, takes longer and needs more skill to apply well, but many people prefer the finish, and it can perform better for soundproofing and airtightness on solid walls. We’re more than happy to advise on the best option for you at the property visit.
In most cases, yes. Overboarding lets us plasterboard straight over Artex rather than stripping it off, which is quicker and avoids disturbing older textured coatings.
No. We don’t ask for anything upfront. Payment is due once the work is finished and you’re happy with it.
Yes, we carry public liability insurance for all plastering work.
We’re going to be honest. Plastering does create some dust and debris; there’s no way around it. However, we protect floors and surrounding areas with sheeting before we start and clean up once the project is completed so it disrupts you as little as possible.
We cover all of Cardiff, with much of our plastering work in CF14 areas such as Whitchurch, Thornhill, Llanishen, Rhiwbina, Birchgrove and Heath.
We also travel further out for the right job, taking on plastering in Newport, Barry, Penarth and further into the Rhondda. If you’re just outside these areas, get in touch anyway; it’s easier to ask than guess.
Whether it’s one damaged wall in a Cardiff terrace or a full ceiling replaster ahead of a renovation, you get the same careful approach wherever you’re based.
