Our internal painting and decorating service covers internal walls and ceilings. If a wall’s just been skimmed as part of a wider renovation, it needs a mist coat before anything else goes on, and we build the right drying time into the schedule rather than rushing to a top coat.
Cardiff has a lot of period housing stock, particularly the Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Roath, Cathays and Pontcanna, and older render doesn’t behave like a modern wall. We prep and paint exteriors with that in mind, and where a property sits in one of Cardiff’s conservation areas, that can affect what’s allowed on the outside of the building before we start.

Painting covers the finish coats: walls, ceilings, exteriors. Decorating covers everything around that: filling and sanding, wallpaper hanging, colour matching and finishing touches like doors and skirting. Book a painter and decorator, and you get the prep and finish from the same person, rather than splitting the job across two trades.
Yes. Although most of our painting and decorating work is part of a wider property renovation, we also offer it as a standalone service.
A single room usually takes a day to two days, depending on how much prep the walls need and how many coats the colour requires. A room that’s had a mist coat, or a big colour change from dark to light, will take longer than a straightforward repaint in a similar shade.
As a rough guide, once prep is factored in, most painters can achieve around 20 to 40 square metres of wall a day. Finish coats alone go faster than that, but filling, sanding, masking, and cutting in around windows, doors, and skirting is what takes the time on a real job.
For interior work, any time of year is fine; we control the heating and ventilation. Exterior painting is more weather-dependent: late spring through to early autumn tends to work best in Cardiff, when there’s less rain, and the temperature stays high enough for the paint to cure properly.
In most cases, it needs to come off. Painting over old wallpaper will eventually show through.
No, you will not need to move out while we undertake the work. We protect the areas we’re working in and keep as much of the house usable as possible while we’re there. Our aim is to disrupt you as little as possible throughout the process.
Yes, we lay down dust sheets and floor protection before we start, and we tidy up as we go rather than leaving a mess at the end.
No. Payment is due on completion, once you’re happy to sign off on the work.

We are happy to offer our services in surrounding areas of Cardiff, including Newport, Barry, Penarth, and the Rhondda area. If you’re outside these areas, get in touch anyway; we take on larger projects further afield and can usually still help.
